Commissioner for Internal Services Visits ECOWAS Court of Justice, Pledges Support for Success

The Honourable Commissioner for Internal Services of the ECOWAS Commission, Prof. Nazifi Abdullahi Darma, on Friday 15 November 2024, visited the Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS to strengthen collaboration and pledge support for the effective execution of its mandate.

During the visit, the President of the Court, Honourable Justice Ricardo Cláudio Monteiro Gonçalves, warmly welcomed the Commissioner, emphasizing the importance of fostering close ties between the Court and the Internal Services Department. He expressed the Court’s commitment to a productive partnership that enhances the collective service to the ECOWAS community.

In his remarks, Prof. Darma acknowledged the Court’s critical role in upholding justice and impartiality within the region, particularly in handling cases brought by citizens against their governments. He assured the Court of unwavering support from the Internal Services Department, including assistance with resource allocation, recruitment, and other essential services to facilitate its operations. “Your success is our collective success,” he noted, reiterating his department’s dedication to ensuring the Court achieves remarkable milestones under its current leadership.

The Vice President of the Court, Honourable Justice Sengu Mohamed Koroma, also expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s visit and reaffirmed the Court’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate with excellence and collaboration.
