ECOWAS COURT DISMISSES CASE BROUGHT BY NGO ALLEGING THE VIOLATION OF THE RIGHTS OF IDPS IN NIGERIA

West Africa’s regional court has dismissed a case brought by a Nigerian-registered Non-governmental Organisation against the Federal Republic of Nigeria over the treatment of the 3 million persons who were internally displaced because of the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

ECOWAS COURT ORDERS GHANA TO PAY $250,000 AS COMPENSATION OVER DEATH OF NIGERIAN STUDENT

The Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS has ordered the Republic of Ghana to pay $250,000 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars) in compensation to the family of a 15-year old Nigerian Student, Augustine Chukwuebuka Ogukwe, who died in a swimming incident on 15th October 2013 in the country.

COURT RESERVES TWO DAYS FOR HEARING IN A CASE BROUGHT BY SECURITY ADVISER TO FORMER NIGERIAN PRESIDENT

The ECOWAS Regional Court has reserved two days to hear the case brought by Retired Colonel Mohammed Sambo Dasuki, the National Security Adviser to a former Nigerian president alleging human rights violations against the government following his continued detention and the seizure of his properties.
