ECOWAS Court Dismisses Alleged Human Rights Violation Case Brought by Liberian Company
The ECOWAS Court of Justice has dismissed a case brought by a Liberian registered company alleging the violation of its right to possess and own property by the government of the Republic of Liberia after the government blocked the company’s access to $3 million dollars in its account with a bank because of suspicions about the source.
Delivering a judgment in a suit brought by Dexter Oil, Justice Dupe Atoki, who read the judgment of the three member panel, said the plaintiff failed to prove its legitimate ownership of the USD 3 Million in contention and that the Defendant was consequently not liable
