ECOWAS COURT PRESIDENT AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO ENSURE ACCESS TO JUSTICE FOR MAJORITY OF COMMUNITY CITIZENS

Justice Edward Amoako Asante, President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, has reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring that a majority of the Community citizens can avail themselves of the opportunities provided by the Court, as established by the founder’s father of the Community.

During his end-of-year message on December 15, 2023, Justice Asante underscored the Court’s dedication to tirelessly work towards providing access to justice for all. He emphasized the importance of upholding the fundamental principles of the law, with the overarching goal of contributing to the advancement of a fair and just ECOWAS Community.

“I am truly grateful for the unwavering dedication and hard work each of you has consistently demonstrated throughout the year. I am proud to lead such a remarkable team of individuals; your collective efforts have undoubtedly contributed to the success and reputation of the Court,” remarked Justice Asante, extending his best wishes to the staff for the upcoming year.

Expressing confidence in overcoming challenges, Justice Asante urged the Court’s staff to embrace the new year with optimism and determination. He assured them that “we will accomplish great things together in the coming year.”

Reflecting on the past year, Justice Asante commended the dedication, hardiness, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the Court’s staff despite unprecedented challenges. He acknowledged their individual hard work and professionalism as an inspiration to all.

“As we bring this year to a close, let us also take stock of our achievements, learn from our experiences, and continue to strive for excellence in our pursuit of justice,” Justice Asante concluded.
