ECOWAS COURT TO HOLD TELEVISION AND RADIO SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME IN LAGOS
A delegation of the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice led by its President, Honorable Justice Edward Amoako Asante will be in Lagos, Nigeria next week for a weeklong radio and television sensitization campaign on the Court in Nigeria’s former capital city.
The delegation which also includes Justice Dupe Atoki and staff of the Court will undertake radio and television programmes as well as advocacy visits to high level officials of the State between 1st and 5th October 2019.
The programme is an annual rotational campaign undertaken in Member States of the Community to create awareness on the Court, particularly its mandate, jurisdiction, competence and activities through the media in other to improve access to the Court.
Activities lined up during the campaign include courtesy visits to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Chief Judge, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy and the State chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association.
The delegation will also take the campaign to the Law students of the Lagos State University and hold interactive panel discussions on the State Radio and Television as well as a press conference.
